Rate of force development (RFD) refers to the speed at which force is generated. It is a key action capability in many athletic movements that require sprinting, cutting, jumping, and throwing. RFD is typically measured as the slope of the force-time curve during the initial phase of muscle contraction.
RFD can be divided into two main stages based on the duration of the contraction: 1. Early Stage RFD
2. Late Stage RFD
